A scrape on the surface and damage behind a panel can call for different kinds of work. We look at the vehicle before recommending how to repair it.
Call about a vehicle
Front, rear and side impact repairs for cars, trucks and SUVs. An inspection helps identify the visible damage and the areas that need a closer look.
Structural measurement and repair after an impact. Tell the team how the damage happened and about any changes you noticed after the collision.
Body damage from everyday parking, scrapes and impacts. The condition of the panel and paint helps determine the repair and refinishing work.
Repair or replacement of body panels and bumpers depends on the damage, panel material and its location. The estimator can explain the approach for your vehicle.
Before your estimate
Call before making the trip, or request an estimate appointment through Carwise. If insurance is involved, tell us which insurer is handling the claim first. It may need to prepare its own estimate or send an assignment before we write one. An estimate visit and repair drop-off are separate appointments.
Vehicle towed in? Contact the handling insurer about the claim and towing arrangements, then call us with the claim details. Arrival does not mean repairs start immediately. We need the insurance steps, your signed authorization, parts and a place in the repair schedule.
Find your insurer’s repair processBefore repair drop-off
An estimate visit is one step. Leaving your vehicle for repairs is another. Confirm the date, authorization and transportation plans with the office first.
Rental and drop-off questionsThese steps do not apply to bringing in an unsafe or towed vehicle. Call us to discuss its arrival and claim details.
How a repair goes here
Every repair is different. These are the main steps, with timing shaped by the damage, insurance approvals, parts and any calibration work.
For an insurance repair, contact the handling insurer and give us its name and your claim number. Its process determines who prepares the estimate. Paying yourself? Tell us when you call.
Our estimates are in person and usually take 30–60 minutes. Some insurers prepare an estimate from your photos instead. Call first so we can explain the right next step.
Sign the repair authorization, confirm any insurance approval and arrange drop-off. Parts availability and the repair schedule affect when work can begin, including for towed vehicles.
The work can include disassembly, additional damage review, body repair, paint and reassembly. We coordinate diagnostic scans and any required calibration with ADC. Some vehicles need a dealership visit.
Wait for the shop’s ready-for-pickup message. Confirm the balance and payment arrangements, then collect your final paperwork, written warranty and keys at the front desk.
Follow your fresh-paint care instructions and keep the warranty sheet. Contact the shop promptly with any question or concern after pickup so we can arrange a time to look at it.
Collision repair questions
Every repair has its own details. Here are a few useful starting points.
More repair questionsBody shops repair more than major collision damage. Contact Kulavic’s about dents, scratches and damaged metal or plastic panels. The shop will need to see the damage to discuss an appropriate repair.
Photos can help start the conversation, but they may not show damage behind a bumper or panel. Call to arrange an inspection and ask what is needed for your estimate.
Yes. Bring the estimate, your claim number and any instructions from your insurer. Kulavic’s works with most insurance companies; the team can discuss your claim and the work your vehicle needs.
We coordinate pre-repair and post-repair diagnostic scans and required calibrations with Advanced Diagnostics & Calibrations (ADC). Many can be handled at the shop, including a road test when the procedure requires it. Some makes and models need dealership equipment or a dealership visit, which can add time.
Timing includes insurance steps, the existing schedule, parts, repair, paint and any calibration. Larger tow-in jobs can take one to two months from arrival to completion, depending on the damage and availability. Paint work alone can require several shop days. These are planning examples, not a promised completion date. Call for your vehicle’s current schedule.
The shop mainly uses text messages once the repair file is set up. Automated reminders do not show every repair stage or every part order. The team can send a specific message about a delay or pickup. Confirm the best contact number, tell us if you cannot receive texts and call when you need more detail.
Keep your final paperwork and written warranty, and follow the paint-care instructions for your repair. The shop generally advises waiting 30 days before hand washing fresh paint and closer to 60 days before an automatic car wash. Contact us promptly if you notice a concern so we can arrange a time to inspect it.
